A SILENT SHORE SYNOPSIS

This is a drama about Thomas Miller, a journalist in his twenties, trapped in a terminal illness, based in a sparse flat and subject to the demands of his landlady, dwindling finances, his emotional regrets, spiritual disillusionment and the trauma of letting go from his friends, current and former lovers.

He meets his quarrelling neighbours and vows to assert what influence he has left to convince them not to end their marriage. He views organised religion with disdain and anger, but seeks some solace from whatever source may be acceptable and available to him as his demise rapidly approaches. It is a story of a troubled individual railing against the injustice of his condition and reviewing his relatively short life, as he gradually withdraws from his connections.

A major new production on the stage of A Silent Shore is planned for mid-2018.
Featuring a substantial cast, auditions and casting for this will begin on 1 December 2017.
