Bringing art
classes to the local community in Glasgow with the aim of providing a friendly,
enjoyable and relaxed atmosphere where you can meet like-minded people and
improve your drawing and painting skills.
This course will
introduce you to drawing and painting techniques. You will learn
how to observe natural
and man-made form through line, tone and colour.
You will work
with a variety of media, including pencil, charcoal, watercolour

will be a combination of still life objects and photographic reference based on
your own interests or a range of choices offered by Joe, your tutor.

which participants should acquire themselves for the course - available from most Pound Stores,

shops:
• 2B pencil
• 1 hard rubber
• Pencil sharpener
• Charcoal sticks
• Black fine-line fibre-tip pen
• A range of good quality brushes and
water-colour paints

THE ART CLASSES INCLUDE:
Beginner and Intermediate Drawing
Working from simple still life set-ups, you will learn the fundamentals of drawing. With step-by-by-step instructions, you'll will be helped in every way with no time or pace pressures. Individual and respectful assistance, covering the basics of drawing - such as proportions, construction and perspective.
Beginner Watercolour Painting:
Still Life
By working from still life, everyone will master both technical
and conceptual aspects of painting. Colour theory and colour mixing will be
discussed. The goal is to teach you to create a realistic image through
mastering colour and tonal relationships. No prior experience necessary before taking this class or in
conjunction with it.

Anatomy, proportions, and composition will also be
emphasised. You can also draw if you feel more comfortable
with drawing materials such as pencil or charcoal.

Developing your own unique style
During the series of classes, participants will obtain a deeper understanding of
visual arts. This class will focus more on accurately and expressively
portraying the form.
This class will also include a short art history lecture.
Watercolour Painting
Watercolour Painting
This class for all levels of participants who are interested in
learning special techniques of watercolour painting. You will work from
observation. Subjects may include still life and possibly portrait or figure.

complete beginner or have just a little artistic skill, we aim to encourage and inspire your
creativity through a range of different drawing and painting exercises and
techniques.
